THE DIREZIONE INVESTIGATIVA ANTIMAFIA DIRECTORATE SEIZED ASSETS WORTH ABOUT 1 MILLION EUROS AGAINST AN AFFILIATE OF THE LO RUSSO CLAN

The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia carried out a preventive seizure order issued by the Court of Naples – Prevention Measures Section – against a person, who had already been convicted for being a member of the Lo Russo Clan (Capitoni).

The measure originated from a proposal made jointly by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Naples and the Director of the DIA.

The investigation, conducted over the years by the DDA of Naples, had identified the particular role of the suspect, who running de facto a company of the clan, had helped the crime group diversify its investments in public procurements.

The in-depth checks carried out revealed that there was a significant disproportion between the economic/ financial resources and the income declared by the affected party.

The order of seizure carried out involved 2 companies active in the commercial sector, 6 real estate, numerous precious objects and financial relationships for an estimated total value of about 1 million euros.

Today’s result is part of the institutional activities aimed at attacking the illicitly gained assets, which are directly or indirectly linked to mafia-type crime groups, so to protect and safeguard the healthy part of the national economy.
