The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia in Bologna carried out a final asset confiscation order issued by the Court of Milan – Autonomous Section Prevention Measures against a convicted criminal, originally from Milan.
The individual, who was arrested in August 2018 as part of the “DUBLE GAME” operation for criminal conspiracy aimed at international drug trafficking in execution of a pre-trial detention order issued by the G.I.P. of the Court of Bologna, was finally sentenced in 2022 by the Bologna Court of Appeals to 7 years and 4 months of imprisonment.
The elements gathered so far during the investigation converged in a proposal for a prevention measure under the anti-mafia legislation signed by the DIA Director. The proposal outlined the “social dangerousness” of the person, a prerequisite that led to today’s final confiscation order of 6 properties, including buildings and plots of land located in the provinces of Milan and Monza Brianza, a car and a bank account, for a total value estimated at about 1,100,000 euros.
Today’s asset prevention decree is part of the institutional activities aimed at countering illicit wealth obtained and traceable, directly or indirectly, to criminal environments, thus also acting to protect and safeguard the healthy part of the national economic tissue.
