THE DIREZIONE INVESTIGATIVA ANTIMAFIA SEIZED ASSETS WORTH ABOUT 10 MILLION EUROS AGAINST AN ENTREPRENEUR FROM AVELLINO AND HER BROTHER. THEY ARE BOTH SUSPECTED OF BEING CLOSE TO THE NUOVO CLAN PARTENIO

The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia, a directorate of the Department of Public Security, carried out an order of seizure issued by the court in Naples – Section Preventive Measures – against an entrepreneur working in the real estate field and her brother. They are both suspected of being close to the camorra-type organized crime group, called Nuovo Clan Partenio, operating in the province of Avellino.  

The order originated from a proposal for asset-related preventive measures made jointly by the Public Prosecutor at the court in Naples and the DIA Director.

More specifically, the investigations carried out documented that a complex family-based network made up of top-level criminals had encouraged the rise of the two affected parties as economic, business and criminal actors.

They established themselves within the above-mentioned mafia-type criminal group in Avellino and since 2016 they have reportedly managed the lucrative business of real estate auctions, “steering” them towards the interests of the clan.

Moreover, further investigations highlighted that there was a remarkable disproportion between the assets and the financial resources owned by the parties and the income declared.

As a result, the court in Naples ordered the seizure of 1 company operating in the real estate field, 116 real estate assets, 4 movable assets and 61 financial relations with an overall value of about 10 million euros.

Today’s result is the outcome of the institutional activities aimed at attacking the assets, which are illicitly gained and linked, directly or indirectly, to mafia-type criminal phenomena, so to protect and safeguard the healthy part of national economy.
