The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia, an institution within the Department of Public Security, following an order issued by the Supreme Court of Cassation, carried out a final confiscation order against an entrepreneur operating in the construction sector, allegedly close to the CASALESI clan of the ZAGARIA group.
In January 2015, this person was arrested due to a pre-trial detention order, issued by the GIP of the Court in Naples, which was carried out by the DIA. Following this order, he was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment for mafia-type association.
That person represented the entrepreneurial branch of the CASALESI clan of the ZAGARIA group. For this group he managed and controlled tenders, particularly those relating to the hospital “S. Anna e S. Sebastiano” in Caserta.
Today’s measure confirms the confiscation of financial relations in the availability of the affected person and his wife for an approx. estimated value of 6 million euros, already seized by the Court in S. Maria Capua Vetere – Section for the Application of Preventive Measures – upon a proposal by the Prosecutor in Naples.
Today’s result is the outcome of institutional activities aimed at countering illegally-gained assets and linked, directly or indirectly, to mafia-type criminal phenomena, thus protecting and safe-guarding the healthy tissue of the national economy
