The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia, a directorate of the Department of Public Security, carried out an order of seizure issued by the Court in Naples – Section Preventive Measures – on a proposal of the DIA Director against a high-ranking member of the camorra clan operating in Poggiomarino and neighboring areas.
The affected party has many criminal and police records, including mafia-type association, extortion, kidnapping, personal injuries, robbery and possession of armed weapons. Since the beginning of the 90ies, several investigations have highlighted his role within criminal groups operating in the province of Naples. After a long-term imprisonment, he was released in 2021.
The investigations carried out by the DIA, which were also focused on his family, highlighted huge amounts of assets and financial resources coming from illicit activities: 14 real estate assets (plots of land and flats) located in Striano (NA), Terzigno (NA) and Poggiomarino (NA), company shares and corporate assets of two companies operating in the food and beverage sector, financial accounts, life insurances as well as high-value watches.
The estimated value of the assets seized was approximately three million euros.
