THE DIA SEIZES ARMS AND AMMUNITION

On Wednesday, 22 October, in the framework of the institutional activity, DIA staff from Catania arrested M.V. in Catania, an entrepreneur operating in the sector of funeral industry, a previous offender. He was found in possession of a 9-caliber pistol, with an erased serial number, equipped with a chamber cartridge, its magazine and a .380 ACP ammunition, as well as a sound moderator (silencer).

During the investigation, after the home search carried out in San Nicolò, also the previous offender S.T. was arrested being in possession of a pistol with a partially visible serial number, two magazines with ammunition cal. 7.65 and one for a cal. 9 pistol. These items were seized from the garage of the latter’s home.

The arrested persons, after the formalities, were brought to the Correctional Facility in Piazza Lanza, available to the Judicial Authority.
