On behalf of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Naples, following information is transmitted:
This morning, the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia, a Directorate of the Department of Public Security, carried out the preventive seizure of the share capital and corporate assets of a construction firm in Giugliano in Campania. The seizure was ordered by the preliminary investigations judge (GIP) at the Court in Naples, on request of the Prosecutor’s Office in Naples – Antimafia District Directorate.
Seven persons are suspected of fictitious registration of assets with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method. Indeed, the company was formally registered for a person without previous convictions but was de facto owned by one of the bosses of the Mallardo clan, operanting in Giugliano in Campania and neighboring areas, allied with the Contini and Licciardi clans, creating the so called “Alleanza di Secondigliano”.
After the death of the boss, the company ownership passed to his heirs, who also earned its profits and hence are investigated into.
Investigations highlighted that the heirs of the departed boss received 5000 euros a month in rent for one of the commercial premises owned by the company under seizure.
The estimated value of the corporate assets seized is over one million euros.
