The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia carried out an order of the Court of Appeal in Catanzaro, Second Criminal Section, which became irrevocable last February. 8 persons involved in Operation “PROFILO BASSO were sentenced by a final and binding judgement under a fast-track procedure.
The judgment, which was issued on 12.09.2023, confirmed the confiscation order by the GIP (judge for preliminary investigations) at the court in Catanzaro on 28.10.2021 of a huge amount of assets linked to No. 3 entrepreneurs in Cosenza and Turin, who allegedly operated under the influence of the locali of the ‘ndrangheta in San Leonardo di Cutro (KR) and Roccabernarda (KR), in the areas of Rome, Velletri (RM), Sellia Marina (CZ), Simeri Crichi (CZ), Montalto Uffugo (CS) and Roccabernarda (KR).
Based on this final judgement, the whole corporate assets – consisting in 5 companies and 2 proprietor businesses operating in the area of trade – bank relations and financial resources, with an estimated value of 500,000 euros were subject to confiscation.
Today’s definite an irrevocable confiscation – under articles 240, 240 bis and 416 bis, subsection 7 criminal code. (12 sexies d.l. 306/92) – of the illicitly gained assets (movable and immovable property, financial relations, company shares, seized firms and companies), which were gained and are directly or indirectly linked to mafia-type crime sectors, is aimed at safeguarding the healthy national economy and restoring law and order.
