The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia is carrying out a decree of the Court in Bari – III Criminal Section acting as a Preventive Court. This decree orders asset-related measures of judicial administration against two construction companies in Manfredonia (FG).
This measure was jointly proposed by the Public Prosecutor of the Court in Bari and the Director of the DIA.
The companies involved had surfaced during the well-known anti-mafia operation OMNIA NOSTRA, which, among other things, had documented the “protection” provided to both companies by the mafia organization under investigation, operating in the Gargano area (from Manfredonia to Vieste) through a solid network of alliances and a persistent penetration into the socio-economic fabric of the entire area.
The DIA’s in-depth investigations, confirming what emerged in the aforementioned operation, gathered sound evidence that both companies were under the influence of the criminal organization, a prerequisite referred to in Article 34 of the Anti-Mafia Code for the purposes of the application of judicial administration, entrusted to experts appointed by the Court of Bari.
For the final decision, the measure must now be submitted for discussion with the defense of the companies.
