The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia carried out an order of seizure issued by the court in Genoa – Section Preventive Measures – upon the proposal made jointly by the Public Prosecutor at the court in Genoa and the DIA Director, against a 73-year-old man from Terlizzi (BA) who had been living in Genoa for a long time .
The common social dangerousness was applied against the party – who is owner of several companies, all operating in the iron production and trade – for having committed in the years profit-generating crimes, such as fraudulent bankruptcy and several tax crimes (including failure to disclose income and issuing of non-existent invoices) by which he had accumulated huge illicit profits since early 80’s.
The seizure involved one flat and two cars with an overall estimated value of about EUR 300,000. Today’s operation is part of the institutional activities aimed at attacking the assets which are illicitly gained and are directly or indirectly linked to criminal activities so to protect the healthy domestic economy.
