THE DIREZIONE INVESTIGATIVA ANTIMAFIA CONFISCATES ASSETS WORTH ABOUT 400,000 EUROS FROM A WELL-KNOWN PREVIOUS OFFENDER IN CERIGNOLA (FG)

The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia carried out a permanent confiscation order issued by the Appeals Court in Bari, in the framework of preventive measures, against a well-known previous offender in Cerignola (FG).

The am person is an upper echelon of the criminal scenario in that area. He was already finally sentenced for mafia-style criminal association and is deemed to be a qualified socially dangerous person, due to the serious offences he committed.

Asset-related investigations carried out by the DIA in Bari, under the direction of the local Prosecutor’s Office – Antimafia District Directorate – already accepted by the Court – Section Preventive Measures in Foggia,  allowed the investigators to prove that the investments made over the years were proceeds from illegal activities.

Specifically, assets about  400,000 euros were confiscated.

Today’s result is the outcome of institutional activities aimed at countering illegally gained assets  and linked, directly or indirectly, to criminal mafia-type phenomena, thus safe-guarding the healthy tissue of the domestic economy.
