THE ANTIMAFIA INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT AND THE STATE POLICE CARRIED OUT A PREVENTIVE SEIZURE ORDER AGAINST TWO ENTREPRENEURS

DIA Field office in Florence and the Italian State police carried out a preventive seizure order issued by the GIP of the Court in Florence against two entrepreneurs operating in the agricultural sector today morning. Both subjects come from Calabria, from the provinces of Catanzaro and Crotone, but have been living in Tuscany for years. Both subjects are indicted as they used money in their entrepreneurial activity in the agricultural sector, amounting at least to 1.500.000,00 euros, stemming from the crime referred to in art. 416 bis c.p. linked to the mafia-type criminal association ‘ndrangheta, and specifically to the cosca “Grande Aracri” from Cutro (KR) and to the “locale” from the affiliated  Petilia Policastro.

Based on the current investigative hypothesis, in the framework of the investigation conducted by the DIA and the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters in Florence and coordinated by the Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court in Florence, examined by the Investigating Judge, the afore-mentioned subjects would have made themselves available to the Calabrian cosche in order to allow investments and the use of proceeds from criminal activities of the ‘ndrangheta.

The seizure concerned a series of rural real estate portions located in Chiusdino (SI), purchased in August 2007, and consisting in an agricultural plot of land, with some old buildings and rural buildings totalling in the Land Registration over 350 hectares with an overall commercial value of 5.000.000 euros.

The investigation was matched by further results strengthening the investigative hypothesis concerning the reconstruction of the investments made in Tuscany and the links with subjects affiliated to Calabrian cosche.
