On request of the court in Reggio Calabria, the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia seized further two companies with registered office in Genoa, owned by a well-known entrepreneur from Calabria.
The entrepreneur was arrested in July 2016 within an important anti-Mafia operation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Reggio Calabria – District Anti-Mafia Directorate – indicted of mafia association as member of a well-known ‘ndrangheta clan operating in Liguria.
On 18.07.2020, the court in Palmi (RC) acquitted the entrepreneur for not having committed the offence. However, following asset-related investigations carried out by the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia, on proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office in Reggio Calabria, the court in Reggio Calabria ordered the seizure of his assets, considering his social qualified dangerousness.
The first seizure was carried out in November 2021 and concerned 4 companies dealing in the construction and real estate sector, 21 buildings, 13 plots of land located in the area of Genoa, Cittanova (RC), Bardi and Bardineto (SV), current accounts and financial assets, worth over 2 billion euros as a whole. Today’s seizure involved the share capital, the capital assets and further 2 companies – one operating in the administration of company shareholdings and the other in the field of food and drink – amounting to over 100,000 euros.
