The DIA has twelve Field Offices which are located in the areas where mafia crime has a greater presence, namely Turin, Milan, Genoa, Padua, Florence, Rome, Bari, Naples, Reggio Calabria, Catania, Palermo and Caltanissetta.
The DIA also has ten Resident Offices operating in Trieste, Salerno, Lecce, Foggia, Agrigento, Messina, Catanzaro, Trapani Bologna and Brescia.
Field Offices are usually organized into three sectors: preventive investigations, judicial investigations, general affairs, human resources and equipment.
