Near the junction of Capaci-Isola delle Femmine (PA), a charge of five quintals of TNT killed the Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the agents of his escort Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinaro.

The judge Paolo Borsellino and five of his police escort agents, Emanuela Loi, Agostino Catalano, Walter Eddie Cosina, Vincenzo Li Muli and Claudio Traina were victims of a cowardly mafia attack, which took place under the building where the judges’s mother and sister lived.

Maurizio Costanzo, a journalist who was commited to fight against the Mafia message and a close friend of Giovanni Falcone, often inviting him to his talk shows, suffered a bomb attack. The journalist and his partner, Maria De Filippi, miraculously remained unharmed.
Firenze – via dei Georgofili – 27 May 1993
The massacre was part of the Mafia project to destabilize the functioning of democratic institutions and the civil life of the country. The bomb explosion caused the death of Angela Fiume and Fabrizio Nencioni, of their daughters, Nadia and Caterina, and of the architecture student, Dario Capolicchio, also injuring 41 people. The Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, the Church of Santo Stefano al Ponte and all the buildings around the area were seriously damaged.
Milan – via Palestro – 27 July 1993
Mafia attack carried out by Cosa Nostra in Milan. A car bomb exploded at the Gallery of Modern Art and the Pavilion of Contemporary Art, killing five people: the firemen Carlo La Catena, Sergio Pasotto and Stefano Picerno, the municipal police officer Alessandro Ferrari and a Moroccan immigrant who was sleeping on a bench, Moussafir Driss.
Rome -San Giovanni in Laterano and San Giorgio in Velabro – 28 July 1993
Against the background of the other criminal attempts of 1992 and 1993, Cosa nostra carried out an attack in the capital city. A car bomb exploded in Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano, near the Basilica and the nearby Church of the Order of the Holy Cross, injuring 22 people.
