The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia has enforced a confiscation decree issued by the Court of Catanzaro, which became final after being reviewed by the Supreme Court of Cassation.
The prevention measure targets a Catanzaro-based entrepreneur, considered the ” head” of a ‘ndrangheta association, operating under the influence of the locali in Cutro and Isola Capo Rizzuto. The association has its focus in the territories of the province of Catanzaro and in particular in the municipalities of Vallefiorita, Amaroni and Squillace.
The proceeding ultimately led to the implementation of the measure stemming from a proposal signed by the Director of the D.I.A.. The proposal was based on the findings of the financial checks carried out by the Catanzaro Field Office of the DIA, which revealed a significant disproportion between the assets available to the person proposed and his declared income.
The confiscated assets include the entire business compendium of 2 companies active in the catering, painting and window-laying sectors, a cultural association, 10 properties, a motorcycle, a car, as well as bank accounts and financial assets, with a total estimated value of more than 1 million euros.
